When setting up a Pinterest business account, one of the first things you should do is to claim your domain. In this post I am showing you how to quickly and easily claim your Showit Website on Pinterest so you can start pinning your content and drive traffic to your blog!

Why Should You Claim Your Domain?

It is important to claim your domain if you are using Pinterest to market your business and generate traffic to your website. 

Once claimed, your website will be listed on your Pinterest profile (next to a globe icon) so that people can easily click on it to be directed to your website. Also when you create pins your profile picture, your Pinterest account name, profile picture and your website will show up on the pins. Also by claiming your website you will be able to get access to analytics where you can see important data about which pins are driving traffic to your site. 

A Guide To Claiming Your Showit Website On Pinterest

First of all you should ensure you have a business account (either convert a personal account to a business account or set up a new business account)

Then from your profile picture, click on the down arrow next to it and select “settings” Go to “Claimed Accounts” on the left, and then click on “claim”

Then when you see this box appear, select HTML tag and it will copy the code for you.

Inside Your Showit Account

Once you have this, login to your Showit domain account at showit.co

Find your home page, and on the right toolbar, look under “advanced settings” this is where you will paste the code you copied from Pinterest under “Custom Head HTML” box.

Once you have done this, you will need to hit “Publish” on the top right. 

Verify Your Domain With Showit

Then head back to your Pinterest account to the page you were just on and select “continue” 

Enter in your website URL and click verify.

Pinterest says it may take 24 hours but I’ve seen it happen almost instantly. 

Once successful you will see the globe icon on your profile page. 

And thats it! Easy peasy! You have now claimed your Showit website on Pinterest!
